Every year in Pontypridd, acts gather for Ponty's Big Weekend. This year's Saturday headliner was Olly Murs supported by the likes of Cover Drive, Diana Vickers and Lucie Jones. It was a great day thankfully overlooked by sunshine, and having recently received a 55-200 lens for my birthday, I got to put it straight into practice.
This and the three posts below it showcase my photos from the day. First are a general selection of the day, followed by pics of Kam & Sally, Lucie Jones & finally the man himself, Olly Murs. If you like the photos, don't hesitate in sending a comment my way or getting in touch via the 'Contact' page on the left! Happy scrolling!

The day was a big success. The crowd was amazing, and as in any large group of strangers, there were quite a few characters! Here are some of my favourite shots of the whole day.

Kam & Sally

Kam and Sally have been working together for 15 years which makes them the perfect radio pair. Along with their newsreader Sir Tim of John and producer Stevie Jingles, they bring South Wales a bit of sunshine every morning, whatever the weather.

Lucie Jones

Despite some technical issues which meant she had no backing track, Lucie kept the crowd on side with her stunning voice and professionalism. You know if it had happened to Madonna she'd have stormed off in a huff. Just shows that it's not how long you've been in the business that counts, it's tenacity that'll see you through. Well done Lucie, you did Wales proud.

I'd never seen Olly live before, but was very impressed with his showmanship. My sister compared him to Robbie Williams because his performance was enthusiastic, eccentric and brilliant. Hopefully I captured the spirit of his show in some of the pictures I took.
