Santa swings through the air with the greatest of ease..

People might think that Santa's talents are limited to climbing up and down chimneys. Wrong. He is clearly an excellent trapeze artist who, inexplicably, carries a Christmas tree on his back. Probably in case of emergencies. You know, in case someone's living room is missing one. He's thoughtful like that, is our St.Nick. 

Christmas

Christmas Day is only a week away. To celebrate, as well as playing Christmas songs on repeat, I'll be posting a daily festive photo. It's my favourite time of the year, and so inevitably I'm going to combine it with my favourite hobby, photography. 

I'm in love with this first picture. The ballerina is only a recent addition to our decorations after her predecessor lost her leg in a tragic attic-to-tree accident. As I'm sure you'd agree, she's fitting in very nicely and looks beautiful in her first ever portrait. The only editing done to this picture was a slight de-saturation which gives the whole shot a more intimate feel, I think.

From Heaven

I took this a few months ago in Twickenham. Composition's not perfect and I don't think the dirty Thames adds anything positive to the shot, but I still love it. One of my favourite lucky catches.

"We don't really have chickens in America..."

New York. A wonderful city not entirely dissimilar to London but with it's own pros and cons. Pro: cabbies come up with gems such as the one in the title. Con: trying to hail a cab after 5 is near on impossible. Pro: service is excellent and delivered with a smile. Con: good service comes at a hefty tipping price.

Five days in The Big Apple is not enough. Especially when one of those days is spent recovering from food poisoning... The city deserves time. It may not not be huge (Manhattan is 23 square miles) but with a population of  1,634,795 people you can believe that it makes the most of its space. Uptown, Midtown, East, West, Lower , Theatre District, Greenwich Village, Soho, Chelsea, Chinatown etc etc and that's just Manhattan! Don't forget Brooklyn, Queens etc. So with so much to see and do, you really can't be expected to get the full experience in five measly days. But here's a little of the experience I did get, all be it brief.
