Black & White

I've always loved black and white photography. The absence of colour gives the photo an edge. A personality. Whether it's heavily contrasted or soft in tone, a black and white photo is clean, poignant and intense. It makes you look, demands your attention, and keeps it. It highlights any flaws and makes them monochromatically beautiful. Perhaps life isn't black and white, but shooting in it certainly makes you appreciate its shades of grey.
